I’ve heard you are unable to use get in touch with lenses in drinking water. I don’t want to unfastened my remaining final pair of eyeglasses either.

Laser surgical treatment is not an option.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Effectively, you can dress in contacts in the drinking water. I have been browsing with my contacts. I will notify you that I also misplaced one when!! But your eyes will be dry and scratchy when you are finished, so it is best to carry your solution and case to consider them out when you are concluded browsing! I completely realize the difficulty since my eyesight is also horrible. So I have not located a fail-evidence system nonetheless, but holding my contacts in seems to function for the most piece!

the moment you do it, you might be not gonna want to avoid, its the very best feeling in the environment, greater than intercourse. of program, you require to have great hollow waves, offshore winds. if the wave is decent, its not tough. you gotta make positive you know in which you are on the wave really significantly the total time. its tricky to describe exactly how to do it. enjoy a bunch of videos, it helps. go to surfline.com, they have tons of videos.

I’ve had about 1000 days on the water (both surf and whitewater) since I’ve gotten my contacts and I’ve lost a total of one. So I’d say the odds of losing one are probably not as bad as losing a pair of glasses. I do almost always close my eyes underwater to keep the contacts from coming out, but I’ve also gotten sprayed directly in the eyes and they’ve stayed in.

The one concern I can think of is the risk of an infection if you spend a lot of time in contaminated water (then again, you’d probably be concerned even if you didn’t have contacts). I’ve never had a problem though, and my eyes actually feel better after a day on the water than after a day in front of the computer.

Have a look at the various types of disposable lenses. Some are one-day use. Others last 30 days (if you take them out and clean them each night– highly recommended). This way, if you lose one, it’s not a big expense.

If you don’t want to go with contacts, you could look at various sport goggles, for instance these: http://www.murrays.com/barz/barz.html

Talk to your optometrist about what they call ‘reverse K’ lenses–they’re hard contact lenses that you wear during the day for a few months, then after that you only have to wear them at night when you’re sleeping and you take them out during the day, and they keep your vision at around 20/20 all day long. They change the shape of your eye for about 18-36 hours depending on the person such that your vision will be excellent for that period of time, but you do have to remember to put them in every night. I’ve had them for more than 10 years, and they’re awesome, but when I got them my optometrist told me that they don’t work for all candidates.

Beyond that, you could wear glasses with one of those bands to keep them from falling off, but even those bands probably wouldn’t help you much if you’re in heavy surf. You could also just do the disposable lenses in the water and discard them at the end of your session; I was a competitive swimmer for a bit and I wore contact lenses before I did the reverse K lenses at night and I never lost my contacts in the water. Or you could look into the goggles for your prescription–if you got the tinted prescription goggles, they would also shield your eyes from the harmful UV rays while you’re surfing and they would protect your eyes from anything in the water.

If he’s been anywhere he knows he shouldn’t, he will have deleted the history immediately (I know I always used to)

You’re better off opening the folder with all the cookies in it.
Click the Start button, and select “search”, then simply type “cookies”

There should be a folder called “cookies” in that folder there will be a list of files that correspond to websites visited.

Of course, depending on his level of IT awareness, he may have deleted these too.

Another suggestion would be to take advantage of Internet Explorers predictive text in the address bar.

if you type in any address, eg http://www.yahoo.com, before you’ve typed it all in, when you type “www.y”, a dropdown box will appear of all the most recently visited websites beginning with http://www.y,

    http://www.yahoo.com
    http://www.yellowpages.com
    http://www.youtube.com
    etc…

You could try this with every letter and see what comes up.

Having said that, don’t freak out if he’s surfing adult sites (unles sit’s really twisted stuff). I’d be frankly surprised if he wasn’t

Technical surfing questions usually get butchered in this site, because its hard to verbalize the steps necessary to accomplish a given maneuver.

First of all, you need a barrel. getting really tubed depends as much on the wave as it does on the surfer. If you get the right conditions, you have to slow down and make a clean line across the face of the wave. That’s easier riding forward than it is riding backside, but it can be done either way. Slowing down enough, and staying far enough away from the shoulder are key. However, there is no way I can TELL you how to do that. You have to be in the water and feeling it for yourself.

dropping into a barrel is very difficult, so often people get barreled by pulling into one. Pulling into a barrel involve stalling your speed either by turning, putting your hand in the wave or doing a wheelie/manual (sorry I don’t know a better term).

Pulling in at just the right time involves great skill in “reading the wave”. If you watch videos of Kelly Slater in France, you see that he is amazing at this. At just the right time, he will draw out a bottom turn and go right into a hollow spot. It takes great skill and experience to get to the level where you can just pull in like Kelly.

For staying in the barrel, you can see in videos of Damien Hobgood in Tahiti stalling with his hand in the wave. Damien has a unique way of shifting his weight in the barrel from his front to back foot to pump for speed. Also you may notice that good barrel riders pump with their ankles to maintain a steady position in a tight barrel while keeping and creating speed.

Ultimately, no one can tell you how to ride barrels, you have to just go out there and go for it. The hard part is finding the right conditions. Most perfect barrels are also very dangerous.

Tom, you have been surfing for 6 years and your asking for tips to get barrelled. Wow. Mate, I think you should have been shacked by now or your not surfing the right waves.
Watch other people in the line up or dvd’s – real close. Watch it in slow motion, rewind and watch it again, watch the take off and see how fast they are paddling for the wave, watch their feet positioning, look at their rail positioning, see if they drag their hand to slow down, watch if they take off straight into the pit or if they bottom turn and stall and when your getting in there keep your eye’s as open as you can to negotiate a way out.
Barrells can be dangerous at any size so be carefull. Get used to getting smashed because a lot of barrells (unless surfing perfection) will out race you or close out – with you inside. Good barrells break in shallow water so make sure your well away from your board if you don’t make it (and watch the reef too!!!)
A lot of variables to keep in mind. Many more than I’ve said. Watch, learn & do.
