Question by Travis: What guitar devices really should I get for a really great surf rock/ska sound?
-Certain sort of guitar?
-Strings?
-Outcomes pedals?
And what qualifies that audio as ‘surf rock’? Are there selected patterns to stick to?
Any fantastic bands in this catagory I will need to look at out?

i dont know much about surf and ska. but good gear for anything is a boss distortion pedal. give you any kind of rock audio from light to metal. a wah pedal will create private touches to your actively playing, for surf i know fender jaguars and jazzmasters are relatively well-known. a first rate marshall amp is great to have.
the minimal i hear to i recognize a whole lot of short repetitive cascades in surfrock.
that and doubled notes.

The drinking water is cold even when is summer time time. But not as cold like through the winter season.But you dont need to put on a wetsuit although, for the reason that after you jump in the water, your body will get used to it.

Hola. Fur surf rock and ska you cannot go wrong with the fender strat. Look at any footage of a surf rock band and all the members are playing strats. Dick Dale, The Ventures, you name it. For pedals all you really need is a reverb pedal for the watery sound (Think Misirlou by Dick Dale, also played on a strat) Check out walk dont run by the ventures, wipe out by the surfaris, and the song pipeline by the chantays. These are definitive surf rock songs. Hope this helps, Peace!
I’ve played in surf bands before, and nothing beats a Fender-type guitar and a Fender tube amp w/ spring reverb.
Strings? No higher than a 10-46 set. I use D’Addarios 9-42, but I do a lot of string bending. (fake pedal steel licks)
Effects? All you really need is the reverb, perhaps a tremelo pedal, and a bit of saturation to dirty up the sound when needed…like an Ibanez Tube Screamer…great pedal!
It also helps if your guitar is equipped with a whammy bar, like the Fender Strat.
Bands? Do a search on YouTube for the Hellecasters for some modern hot instrumental guitar, and study the masters… The Ventures. Here’s a clip from back in the mid-60′s. Have fun!

yes you can browse internet with low data usage. there is a free java applications “Opera mini” which is very popular. it compress the images and web pages. so the data usage is low. also you can disable images. usually it take less than 6-7 Kilobites for facebook profile without images. and may be 25kb with images
in so cal the water is 65-70 during the summer, and you dont really need a wetsuit for that. but during the winter i would recomend using a wetsuit.
just buy one, they are not that exspensive
In the summer the water is very nice. In the winter it can get cold and you will want a wetsuit.

You need a wetsuit year round. 4/3 + booties are a MUST during the winter. 3/2 during Summer. It just started getting warmer, but I still suggest a 4/3.
I live in So Cal. We all wear wetsuits year round. Only goons that surf for like an hour don’t wear a suit. It gets cold. Sitting there between sets with the wind.
If it is the afternoon, warm, and your second or third session of the day…then ya maybe i won’t wear a suit. Other then that, I want to be as warm as i can, catch as many waves as i can, and be out as long as i can, Therefore, i wear a suit year round. Plus wetsuit lines are sexy. Especially the neck tan.
If you are just going for a swim then you don’t need a suit. But if you plan on being out a while then ya.
do you need a suit? no. do you want a suit? yes.. i was just tellin some other dude too, theres locals all over, especially in la jolla, that trunk it year round but they’re maniacs, man, probly on pcp..at least get a spring suit until october
nope. As long as your cool with it then its fine. Just feel the water and decide if it is warm enough or too cool. Thats the good thing about living in Florida! The water is usually warm.
I have a story that you might like, I went to HB(So. Cal) and when I went there, I didn’t pack my wetsuit, I decided to surf anyways because the waves were so great, I had to go to the hospital cause I started going hypothermic, this was in June, so yes, you do need a wetsuit YEAR ROUND
